In an impressive showing of skill and determination, Jayden Schaper clinched his second consecutive title on the DP World Tour at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open held at the stunning Heritage La Réserve Golf Links in Mauritius.
Schaper, only 24 years old, achieved this remarkable feat after winning the previous week’s Alfred Dunhill Championship in a playoff. Facing off against Ryan Gerard, both golfers finished regulation at 22-under par. However, it was Schaper who emerged victorious after a thrilling playoff, sealing the win with an eagle on the second extra hole.
"The last three weeks have been incredible. I don't even know what to say. That's just such an insane way to finish a tournament," said Schaper, visibly thrilled with his achievements.
Entering the final round in a challenging position, Schaper trailed Gerard by two strokes. Nonetheless, he quickly found his rhythm, securing birdies on the third and fourth holes, and later hitting a five-foot eagle putt on the fifth which brought him level with Gerard.
He maintained his momentum, expertly navigating the course and making critical par saves. Schaper kept the pressure on with further birdies on holes 15, 16, and 18, culminating in a phenomenal round that took him to 22-under par.

The competition ended dramatically at the second playoff hole, where Schaper’s eagle not only secured his victory but earned him the top prize of €174,065.24.

Reflecting on his achievements, Schaper noted, "I could not have asked for anything better. Christmas is going to be good this year, and New Year. It's just unreal. I wait five years for the first (title) and then the following week (to get the second) is so cool."
