Brian Harman delivered a remarkable performance at the RBC Heritage, shooting a career-low 63 on Saturday at Harbour Town Golf Links. This impressive round, highlighted by an exceptional back nine, saw him finish with a score of 13-under par, putting him in a tie for third place and just four strokes off the lead.

The Savannah native began his journey with a solid showing on Friday, where he carded a 66. Reflecting on his earlier rounds, Harman mentioned that adapting to the recent course renovations overseen by Davis Love III was taking some time. However, he quickly adjusted, showcasing his golfing skills on one of his favored venues on the Tour.

"I just tried to keep the pedal down. It's going to take a low number to win," said Harman. "The weather is going to turn a little bit tomorrow, so it was nice to get out there with some good conditions. I'm hoping the wind is going to blow a little bit. Doesn't look like it's going to get up like it did yesterday afternoon. I'm happy to be in a good spot. I had a tough start on Thursday. I've battled back really nice the last couple days."

Harman's stellar round included a series of standout moments. The highlight was his back nine, where he made three consecutive birdies. His day began with a birdie on the par-5 second hole, draining an 18-footer, followed by another birdie on the par-5 fifth from 26 feet. He made the turn at 33, capitalizing on his solid putting game, which he credited for his success.

"It took me a day on Thursday to get them figured out. We made a little bit of a setup change, and I'm hitting some good putts," Harman said.

Continuing his impressive game, Harman birdied the par-4 10th with a six-foot putt and made a 15-footer on the par-3 14th. His shot on the 17th hole—a remarkable 30-foot bunker shot for a birdie—was his crowning achievement, demonstrating his exceptional skill under pressure. He capped off his round with a 22-foot putt for birdie on the closing hole, finishing with a total of 89 feet, nine inches of putts made throughout his round.

"It's a bad number off the tee. I'm right in between 6-iron and 7-iron, and tried to kill a seven. I hit it just like I wanted to, just came up a little short. Long of that flag is no good," Harman noted when reflecting on his successful bunker shot at 17.

This marked Harman's 18th appearance at the RBC Heritage, an event close to his heart since he made his debut as a 17-year-old after winning the 2003 U.S. Junior Amateur. His comfort level at Harbour Town has grown over the years, leading him to establish a more aggressive approach on the course.

"I'm pretty comfortable driving it around here. Some guys get in between driver and 3-wood a lot and don't really know which one to hit. I'm pretty comfortable with both around here and don't mind playing a little more aggressive on some of those holes," he said.

The day's play left him in good spirits, looking forward to some downtime with former Bulldog teammate Russell Henley and their families.

"I won't think about tomorrow until tomorrow," Harman said, emphasizing the importance of taking one day at a time. "I'll go spend the afternoon with my wife and kids. I think we're going to go over to Russell Henley's house. They've got a place on the beach, so we'll watch our kids run around the beach and then wake up tomorrow and hopefully have a great day."

As the tournament progresses, Harman's performance may put him in contention to compete for the title. He could build on this momentum heading into the final rounds at Harbour Town.

Davis Love III, involved in course renovations, expressed satisfaction with the tournament's energy, stating, "That's two pretty good tournaments in the same week." As the RBC Heritage continues, all eyes will be on Harman and the challenging course conditions that may emerge on Sunday.
