The No. 3 Florida men's golf team closed out their regular season in dominant fashion, capturing their fifth tournament victory of the year at the Calusa Cup on Tuesday at Calusa Pines Golf Club in Naples, Florida.
The Gators posted a tournament-total 842 (-22) to secure a four-shot victory over second-place Virginia. The triumph marked Florida's third consecutive Calusa Cup title and their fourth straight win in the final regular season tournament.
Jack Turner paced the Gators' balanced attack, finishing tied for fourth at 7-under par with rounds of 68-66-75. Parker Sands followed closely behind with a tie for seventh place at 6-under, matching his career-best finish.
"This is the fourth straight season of five-plus tournament victories for the first time in program history," according to the tournament recap. The five-win campaign represents the fifth such season under head coach J.C. Deacon, the most by any head coach in Florida golf history.
Luke Poulter delivered the round of the day for Florida, firing a 6-under 66 in the final round that featured just one bogey and an eagle on the par-5 18th hole. Poulter finished tied for 11th at 3-under alongside teammate Matthew Kress.
Zack Swanwick rounded out the Florida lineup with a tie for 20th at 3-over par. Four Gators finished under par for the tournament, showcasing the team's depth heading into postseason play.
The 2025 SEC Champions will now turn their attention to defending their conference title at the SEC Championship, scheduled for April 22-26 at Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Georgia. Florida seeks to capture back-to-back conference titles for the seventh time in program history and first since 1993-94.
Following the SEC Championship, the Gators will await their NCAA Regional assignment, which will be announced on May 6th at 2 p.m. on Golf Channel. Regional competition runs from May 18-20 across six predetermined sites spanning from Georgia to Arizona.
The Calusa Cup victory caps off another successful regular season for Florida golf, positioning the team well for their postseason championship pursuits. With momentum building and multiple players in strong form, the Gators enter the most critical portion of their season with confidence and experience.
