Bryson DeChambeau will not participate in the final round of LIV Golf Mexico City after announcing his withdrawal on Sunday morning. The golfer cited discomfort in his wrist as the main reason for his early exit from the tournament.
After three rounds, DeChambeau stood at 2 over par, significantly trailing the 54-hole leader, Jon Rahm, by 16 strokes. In his statement shared via social media, DeChambeau expressed his disappointment: "I experienced some discomfort in my wrist during yesterday's round and have decided to withdraw from the final round of LIV Golf Mexico City to prevent further injury. Now how I wanted this week to go, but wishing the Crushers a strong finish. I'm going to take a few days to get evaluated and hope to be ready for LIV Golf Virginia."
This withdrawal comes on the heels of DeChambeau's controversial remarks about the course conditions at Club de Golf Chapultepec, where his comments about the rough area garnered significant attention on social media. In a viral moment from the first round, DeChambeau was seen venting frustration about the state of the course.

Looking ahead, LIV Golf's next tournament is slated for May 7-10 at Trump National DC in Sterling, Virginia. This will mark the league's first event in the United States for 2026 and is expected to be pivotal for players as they prepare for the upcoming PGA Championship, scheduled for the following week.
Before this tournament, DeChambeau had entered LIV Golf Mexico City on a hot streak, having recorded two consecutive victories. Yet, he faced challenges at the Masters, where a series of triple bogeys contributed to his surprising non-qualification for the weekend. As he takes the necessary time to recover, DeChambeau will seek to refine his game ahead of the PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club.
With a strong track record at the PGA Championship in recent years, having claimed four top-five finishes in his last five appearances, including back-to-back runner-up results, DeChambeau has much to aim for upon his return to the tour. His resilience will be tested as he focuses on his health first, hoping to regain form for the upcoming challenges.
