In a sensational display of golf, Jon Rahm clinched the victory at the 2026 LIV Golf tournament held at Club de Golf Chapultepec in Mexico City, finishing with a remarkable total of 21-under 263. Rahm's final round score of 64 allowed him to distance himself from the competition, ultimately winning by six shots over fellow Spaniard David Puig.
This triumph marks Rahm's second win of the LIV Golf season, solidifying his status as one of the tour's top players. His enthusiastic approach to the game was highlighted when he said, "Yeah, hopefully do as well as I have so far off the tee, keep that iron game sharp and hopefully make a few. Not much you can ask for; 7-under through two rounds here is really good."
David Puig, despite finishing second at 15-under, was unable to keep pace with Rahm, who was relentless throughout the final round. Josele Ballester, another Spanish golfer, finished third at 14-under, rounding out a strong showing for the nation.

Winning the event comes with considerable rewards, as Rahm took home a $4 million share of the $20 million total purse. Additionally, he received 24 Official World Golf Ranking points and 200 LIV Golf points, contributing to the season-long points race, where the winner stands to gain $6 million.
The LIV Golf tournament format continues to draw interest, as there are no cuts, allowing all 56 players to compete through all rounds. The team competition also provided excitement, with Legion XIII prevailing with a collective score of 45 under over four rounds. Fireballs GC followed in second, while Southern Guards secured third place.
Richard T. Lee, who participated in the tournament, shared a glimpse into his routine for the final day, stating, "Just going to do the same thing as the last three days, keep it low key, have some nice food with my family, and go to bed early." Keeping a calm mindset seems crucial for players as they approach high-stakes rounds.

As the LIV Golf series progresses, the 2026 schedule will continue next month with the LIV Golf Virginia event, promising more thrilling action for golf fans.
